There are 211 1/2 days left in 2006 — how will you hit your goals?

by Andrew

I suspect that every single reader here has some objective they are chasing, be it $10 a day, $310 a day, selling a business for a few million, or something more.

I think that measuring time in years hurts us. Why? Because a year is a long time. Despite being an exact measurement we use it to seperate large periods of time. Next year seems like a long ways away, when it can actually be counted in days. Right now we are 42% of the way to 2007 — that is almost half way there!

Its a cliche, but every person has the same amount of hours in every day. It is how we use them that turns those hours into money (including while we sleep.)

  1. 42% of the way, it sounds scary when you put it like that! Just means I have to work twice as hard to get my end of year goals!

  2. While I did know that June was the half-way month of the year I guess I never really realized that it was 42% over. Then again, I’ve had my blog for nearly twenty five days now. I keep for getting that’s almost an entire month, it seems like yesterday I started it. And I always tell myself things like “It’s ok I’m not meeting my goals, it hasn’t been very long yet.”. This post was sort of a wake-up call for me I guess :-)

  3. I’ve got two sites with adsense. Some days I get ZERO clicks. Other days I’ll get a couple of bucks. I’m taking John Reese’s advice and adding forums so I can build free content for the search engines and (what I’d like) build a community around each site.

I really want to hit $10 a day with thsoe sites.

I also recently found a surprizing domain name available so I’ve snatched it up and I’ve started building a site around it. This time, I’m going to wait quite a few months before I add the adsense. That way, hopefully the site will come across as a higher-quality site and I can build the backlinks much easier.

  4. Edit to that last post…last paragraph…
“That way, hopefully, the site will not be interpreted as an adsense-site by visitors and the quality of the articles will shine.”
