The Online Future of Print Publications
Print is in trouble. Its not dead yet, but it isn’t exactly a growth industry either. Newspaper circulations are dropping. Other print publications are dealing with inflated circulation number fraud. Readers are moving online, where they can read what they want, when they want, how they want, and participate in the discussion on a global scale.
Recently Playboy started a “digital print” edition. Other magazines are doing the same. What I find interesting is how they do it.
Instead of capitilizing on the interactivity of the new medium they are creating gimmicks to mimic the old. Something is wrong here. I’m not the only one that is thinking this.
