Splog Journalism

by Andrew

Splogs are infamous for scraping content. Some journalists like to scrape content from blogs too. The good news is bloggers are now getting their revenge with a special award for these journalists.

I had a television station scrape a quote from one of my websites. Fair use, right? Well, they credited me “as a website.” Other blogs, such as Paid Content have gotten the scoop on stories before, only to have their scoop be reported in the next days news without credit.

By reporting the Clinton Lewinsky scandal to the public first, Matt Drudge was launched into the international spotlight. To this day, readers return to his site again and again — and have made Drudge a small fortune in the process.
