I hate to dignify SitePoint with a link, but I just posted my response:

http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2544723&posted=1#post2544723

I think Chris and his fans are perfectly capable of giving them a big black eye. I, for one, feel betrayed.

Thats what I think too. It does seem interesting that they don't want the market of entrepreneurs making hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars a year online, but would instead prefer a market moving toward commoditization that is increasingly made up of outsourced workers in developing countries. Too bad for them, it just opens up better oppurtunities for bloggers like me and Chris's WebsitePublisher.net.

Sitepoint is probably going to move more towards focusing on designers and developers. Not publishers or marketers.

I don't have any proof but that's just what my gut tells me.
