Am I the only person who works 7 days a week?

by Andrew

I try to avoid making the this blog my personal bitching platform, but… does anyone else work 7 days a week? One of the most annoying things for me is trying to do business with people and companies who don’t.

If I set up a PPC campaign Friday night, I want it running then, not Tuesday morning!

Understandably, it is hard, and expensive, to have a company operating not only 7 days a week, but also 24 hours a day. Continuous operation has turned into a necessity rather than a convenience thanks to globalization. Highly competative businesses of the 21st century will understand this.

  1. I’ve always worked 7 days a week. I may be away for some of the day/afternoon/night but always can at least check emails and such many times each day.

  2. Check this out: I cannot transfer money to anyone from 1am - 6pm because my bank’s online banking website is down for “maintenance” at that time every fckn day..
I cannot even check my balance!
that pisses me off at least once per week..
    So yea, I hear you..

  3. I also work 7 days a week. Since I’ve started doing SEM full-time, I LOVE working 7 days a week but at any old regular job, I would be miserable. Actually, I get ‘withdrawals’ if I’m not able to work for a day.

    =)

  4. Same train I ride broseph. I really hate paying for ANYTHING only to discover after I pay that the offices are closed. You know what business industry is the absolute worst at being closed weekends and late nights but shouldn’t be? HOSTING! Those jokers usually close down tehir call centers where you can actually tell a live person he’s a moron instead of doing it via support tickets. Doing it via tickets also makes it infinitely harder to quickly determine whether the person helping you will be able to fic the problem or is you should ask for someoen more experienced.

  6. fenryr, sounds like you have Washington Mutual. I feel your pain and everyone elses since I tend to work the overnight hours and weekends.

  7. Yep I work about 15 hours 7 days a week on average. Obviously the hope is that if you put enough hours in to begin with you can take a bit easier at a later point although I am not convinced that this will ever be the case.
